th installment of the Chennault Cup rivalry is set for Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. when #RV Texas A&M University-Kingsville (2-1, 0-1 LSC) looks to upset No. 6/10 Texas A&M University-Commerce (2-0, 1-0 LSC) at Memorial Stadium.

CHENNAULT CUP
The Chennault Cup was implemented in 1991 and recognizes the late Lt. General Claire Chennault. Originally between West Alabama and A&M-Commerce, the Javelinas and Lions took over the rivalry in 1992. The Hogs lead the series 16-7.

The Javelinas have the opportunity to put a damper on A&M-Commerce's first home game since the season opening exhibition versus University of Faith (Sept. 1). The Lions are ranked No. 6 in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) poll, the highest ranking for AMC since the poll was created in 2000.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
Luis Perez has thrown seven touchdowns and zero interceptions and is among the nation's leaders in completion percentage, completions/game, pass efficiency, passing touchdowns, yards and points responsible. The Lions are coming off a 49-10 victory at Eastern New Mexico University. Returning is All-American and LSC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year Richard Cooper, who rushed for 1,380 yards last season. This season, he has 151 rushing yards in two games.
