Silver City, NM - Texas A&M-Kingsville will travel west to Silver City, New Mexico, to take on Western New Mexico on Saturday from Ben Altamirano Field.

The Javelinas (1-2, 1-0 LSC) are coming off their first win of the 2026 via a 56-22 blasting of Eastern New Mexico. Now the Javelinas will look to even up their record against a Mustang (1-3, 0-2 LSC) team who have dropped their last three contests.

Recent contests have favored the Javelinas over the Mustangs, as Texas A&M-Kingsville has won its last eight games against Western New Mexico. That includes a dominant 64-13 victory last season, a game where the Javelinas scored the most points in a single game since the 2019 season. The offense is prone to outbursts like that under Head Coach Scott Parr, who notched his fourth game scoring above 50 points last week against the Greyhounds.

Western New Mexico has offensive firepower themselves, scoring the fifth most points in a single-game by a Lone Star Conference (62 vs Adams State). Redshirt-freshman Jase Ashley has been a key component for the Mustangs offense this season, totaling 814 yards and seven touchdowns through four games.

- Through three games, Edward Chumley leads the Lone Star Conference with 242 yards on the ground. His three touchdowns against ENMU were the first three TD's of his season.

- Quarterback Mills Dawson has been on quite a tear over the last two weeks, totaling 643 yards and five total touchdowns.


- Receiver Christian Kretz had his best day of the season against the Greyhounds, finishing with season highs in receptions (6) and yards (75) while scoring his first TD of the season

- The Javelinas have now made it 16 consecutive games where they have registered at least one sack dating back to the beginning of the 2025 season

- Texas A&M-Kingsville still leads the LSC with nine sacks, adding two more in last week's game thanks to Rolland Trent, Raishaun Conaway and Jake Montoya

- Julian Payne notched the first multi-interception game by a Javelina since Amos Coleman's two-interception game in the 2023 season

- Freshman defensive back AJ Craft saw his first action of his Javelina career and made an instant impact, registering a forced fumble against the Greyhounds.
