BISHOP, Texas (Tennis) – The final home match of the season featured senior
Marija Dimitrovska increase her singles win streak to five but Texas A&M University-Kingsville (5-13, 0-1 LSC) fell to No. 17 Cameron University (16-2, 3-0 LSC), 8-1 Friday at the Bishop High School Tennis Courts.
The match was the first of three matches in four days for the Javelinas.
Dimitrovska defeated Alina Gorina in straight sets, 6-2, 7-6, in singles flight No. 2. Dimitrovska and
Paula Saenz fell in a close doubles No. 3 match, 8-5, to Paula Gutierrez and Mathilde Thibaudat. In the sixth singles flight,
Martina Urrutia nearly upended Thibaudat before falling 7-6, 7-6.
The Blue and Gold head to Stephenville, Texas for a 10 a.m. match against Tarleton State University at The Potishman-Lard Tennis Courts. Kingsville will wrap up conference play at the location of the Lone Star Conference Tournament as they take on No. 20 Midwestern State University on April 18 at 10 a.m.
