
LAWTON, Okla. – The Texas A&M-Kingsville women team traveled to Cameron Monday for the start of athree-match road trip and fell to the nationally-ranked Aggies 9-0.
The Javelinas (1-7) top doubles team of Mariaxi Herrera and Marija Dimitrovska fell 8-1 having its 3-match winning streak snapped by Amanda Moberg and Julia Puckhaber. At No. 2, Florencia Tomero and Laura Winter defeated Tabata Lua Cervantes 8-2, while Ashton Garcia and Alexandra Carrillo lost 8-0 at No. 3.
In singles, Cameron won all six matches in straight sets. Herrera fell 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 to Amanda Moberg. Cervantes was the only other player to win three games in her singles match falling 6-1, 6-2 to Elvira Sholles.
The team faces Midwestern State on Tuesday and St. Edward’s on Wednesday.
