KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville men's basketball team will close out the 2013 portion of its schedule on Wednesday evening as it hosts Texas Lutheran at 7 p.m. on Kingsville Hampton Inn Court.
The Javelinas enter the contest with a 4-7 record after downing Schreiner 79-67 on Saturday. The Bulldogs of TLU are 5-2 on the season. Kingsville will break following the game until opening Lone Star Conference play at Texas A&M-Commerce on Jan. 8.
Kingsville will be led by
Jordan Jahr had the highest scoring game of his brief Javelina career at Schreiner earning Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors. He led the team with 24 points and eight rebounds. He added two assists and a pair of blocks. He was 6-of-9 from the floor including a 3-of-4 performance from behind the arc. Jahr was perfect at the foul line in nine attempts. He is averaging 11.4 points and 6.4 rebounds this season.
Rashad Basey continues to lead the Javelinas in scoring with 18.7 points. With four other players averaging at least eight points a game.
Ta'Quan McDew, who missed Saturday's game, is scoring 11.5, while Jahr's average climbed to 11 a game.
Ronald Scott, who has a team-best 43 assists, is tallying 10.6 ppg.
Adonis Bailey is scoring eight.
Dwight Taylor made his season debut on Saturday with 13.0.
The Bulldogs are led by Garrett Wilkins, who is scoring 16.1 points a game, while Robert Watson, Jr., averages 13.6 points a game. Former Javelina Donte McGee comes off the bench for TLU and is scoring 8.1 points a contest.
