AUSTIN, TEXAS – The Texas A&M-Kingsville track and field team had two student-athletes competing on Fridayday at the Texas Relays hosted by the University of Texas.

For the women, freshman Samantha Alvarez (Victoria/Memorial HS) cleared 5-3.25 in the high jump. It was her second highest clearance of the season.

Junior transfer Charles Wells (Roanoke/Keller HS) ran in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash, but did not qualify for finals. He finished in a time of 11.14.

The Texas Relays will conclude on Saturday.
