Javelinas Struggle In 23-0 Loss At Tarleton State

The Javelinas had not turned the ball over in three of their first five games, but turned the ball over five times, including their first lost fumble of the season.
Texas A&M-Kingsville finished with just 171 total yards, 129 through the air and only 42 on the ground on 21 carries.
True freshman quarterback Jeremy Heatley struggled, completing just 12 of 33 passes with four interceptions.

The Texas led 17-0 at the half on a Paul Williams field goal and touchdown runs of one and seven yards by Sampson. The final score of the game came on a 17-yard scoring pass from Bartel to Jeremy Madkins in the fourth quarter.
The Texans dominated the time of possession, holding on to the ball for 35:34 to just 24:26 for the Javelinas.
The Javelina offense struggled badly in the first half, compiling only one first down and 33 yards of total offense. The Texas ran more than twice the number of plays as the Javelinas 32-15.
