Former Javelina Activated By Kansas City Chiefs

Former Texas A&M-Kingsville defensive back Michael Bragg was placed on the Kansas City Chiefs active roster today according to Chiefs President Carl Peterson. Bragg agreed to a two-year contract with the club after signing as a free agent with the Chiefs in February. He could play in his first NFL game this weekend when the Chiefs travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers.
Bragg originally singed with the New York Giants as a rook free agent last year, but was released prior to the beginning of the 2005 season.
Bragg played for the Javelinas in 2003 and 2004 after transferring from Cerritos Junior College.
He was a two-year starter as a cornerback and was a first team All-Lone Star Conference South Division selection in 2004, helping the Javelinas to the NCAA Division II semifinals.
In two seasons he recorded 36 tackles, four interceptions and broke up 10 passes. He was also an outstanding track and field athlete, earning All-America honors three times in the long jump. He was ranked 16th in the United States in the long jump in 2003. He set the school record in the long jump with a leap of 25-11.5 in 2003 and qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships three times and the outdoor championships twice.
Bragg is a native of Lakewood, California, and is the cousin of Golden State Warriors guard Baron Davis.
