Javelinas win seventh Lone Star Conference SAAC Cup

McKinney, Texas - Texas A&M-Kingsville was named the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Cup Champions for the seventh time in program history the Lone Star Conference announced on Monday.

The Javelinas, who also won the award last year in 2025, now hold a conference-best seven SAAC cups ever since the award was first presented in 2009. 

The SAAC cup is awarded to the program with the most points at the end of the school year. Points are determined by a criteria involving community service projects, Make-A-Wish participation, fundraising for the community, involvement in LSC organized SAAC events and NCAA organized events.

During the 2025-2026 Athletic year, Texas A&M-Kingsville SAAC organized over 6,700 hours of community service in the greater Kingsville area and donated over $1,300 dollars to charitable organizations. Texas A&M-Kingsville SAAC also ran the 14th annual Hoggie Hunt, an Easter egg hunt event that served the community with donated prizes such as bikes, athletic equipment and gift cards.

The 2025-26 president of Texas A&M-Kingsville SAAC is Karina Alvarez, the Javelinas were represented at the 2026 LSC SAAC retreat by Alvarez and Jeremiah Conaway.
