Track and Field beginning postseason in Albuquerque at LSC Championships

Kingsville - Fresh off of a week of rest, the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's and men's track and field teams are headed north of the brother to Albuquerque, NM for the Lone Star Conference Indoor Championships. 

Their postseasons will start with the two-day meet (Friday and Saturday), where the squads will face off with nine other conference teams on the men's side and eight others on the women's. Kingsville will be bringing 47 total conference-qualifying athletes, 29 men and 18 women.

Opposing Men's Teams (8): Angelo State, DBU, Eastern New Mexico, Lubbock Christian, Oklahoma Christian, St. Edward's, UT Tyler, West Texas A&M.

Opposing Women's Teams (9): Angelo State, DBU, Eastern New Mexico, Lubbock Christian, Midwestern State, Oklahoma Christian, St. Edward's, Texas A&M-Kingsville, UT Tyler, West Texas A&M.

The Javelinas, who have all kinds of momentum entering the weekend after multiple record-breaking performances in the month leading up to conferences, are hoping to follow up a 2025 indoor season that saw them produce 18 total all-conference athletes. Both the men's and the women's crews finished as runner-ups in that meet. 

Events will begin at 11:30 a.m. CT on Friday with the heptathlon and pentathlon, running through the distance medley relay final, which is slated to begin at 9:05 p.m. CT. Saturday will be packed full of event finals, beginning with the final three events of the heptathlon starting at 11:00 a.m. CT, and concluding with the 4x400m relay, which will start at 5:30 p.m. CT.
