Zoe Dean finished in the top-ten for individual scorers as the team finished 5th in a stellar start to the season for the Javelinas at the RJGA Shootout at Estrella.
Dean finished the tournament +2 over two rounds, shooting par in round two of the tournament, putting up a 74 and 72 score over the two rounds. The Javelinas finished the tournament shooting +24 with a cumulative score of 600. That slid them into the 5th spot, finishing just behind Lubbock Christian University.
Not too far behind Dean was
Jamie Miller and
Viviana Farias with top-25 finishes. Miller found herself finishing the tournament +6, tying for 20th after having a great day two, posting a +1 score, finishing with a score of 73 on the day. Farias finished tied for 22nd, shooting +7 in the tournament. With a strong day two performance, battling back to shoot a 75 on the day.
Mekdes Rozas would finish the tournament with a +9 score. She had a strong showing in day one slotting her tied for 11th after shooting a 74 heading into day two. Rozas would wind up finishing in the tournament tied at 34th.
Mia Scrimgeour would finish the tournament +20 tying her for 59th place in the tournament.
Texas A&M-Kingsville heads to Amarillo, Texas, next to participate in the West Texas A&M Fall Invite from Sept. 29-30.
