Kingsville - Following the Texas A&M - Kingsville STUNT team's first ever home win, freshman
Jenna Mendez brought home the program's first ever Lone Star Conference Stunter of the Week award.
Despite playing just a half game against St. Edward's on Saturday (W, 11-6), Mendez still posted a score of 10 on the day with a 15 rating. The game was the first at one during the regular season at home in the program's short history, and it gave the team its first home win in its first year of existence.
"Being named our first ever LSC Stunter of the Week is a huge honor not only for us as a team, but for her as well individually," Head Coach Lindsey Garcia said. "Jenna came to us as only a timber as she comes from a gymnastics background. Throughout this whole season, she has grown so much and is now one of our top flyers on the team."
Mendez, a freshman from Raymondville, helped key Kingsville to the fourth seed in the LSC Tournament, where they will take on St. Ed's once more, this time with a trip to the Tournament's second round and a matchup with DBU on the line.
