Canyon, TX
- Texas A&M-Kingsville looks to end a two-game skid on the road this week as it takes on West Texas A&M Saturday at 4:00 pm from Bain Schaeffer Buffalo Stadium.

The Javelinas (3-5, 2-4 LSC) have dropped two heartbreaking games in consecutive weeks, with chances against both Central Washington and Western Oregon in the final minutes to tie or win the game. Now the Javelinas travel to a Buffalo (4-4, 4-2 LSC) team that is still fighting for its post season life with three games to go in the regular season.

This matchup should feature one of the best quarterback duels in the conference this season, as WT quarterback RJ Martinez takes on Jack Turner of the Javelinas. Martinez and Turner both sit near the top of the conference in passing yards (second and third respectively). These passing attacks have propelled the teams to the fourth and fifth best scoring offenses, with both teams scoring over 30 points per game.

Helping the Javelinas reach that scoring mark are receivers Christian Kretz and King Phillips, who are both having historic seasons in their own rights. Kretz put up historic numbers last week, scoring three receiving touchdowns and matching the school record in the mark. Phillips meanwhile is on pace to break the single-season record for receptions in a season while actively leading the conference in receiving yards.

Defensively, the Javelina have remained their opportunistic self, notching a sack in every game thus far this season and creating turnovers at key points in the game. Defensive lineman Tre Robbins notched his fifth sack of the season against Western Oregon while Khalen Leonard became the ninth Javelina to secure an INT this season.

West Texas A&M meanwhile has been exceptional on the offensive line this season, allowing a conference-best seven sacks this season. Its defensive line has also been a major force this season, leading the conference in sacks.

Kickoff for Saturday's matchup is set for 4:00 pm from Bain Schaeffer Buffalo Stadium. Fans of the Javelinas can watch the game on FloCollege or follow the game at JavelinaFB on X.
