Kingsville - Texas A&M-Kingsville looks to get back in the win column against Midwestern State Saturday at 7:00 pm from Javelina Stadium.

After dropping their last two matchups, the Javelinas are looking for a strong finish to the 2026 campaign over their final three games. The Mustangs on the other hand are still alive for the Lone Star Conference championship and a postseason bid, as they sit just outside the top-25 rankings in the American Football Coaches Association poll.

Saturday's contest will serve as the annual Homecoming game for the Javelinas and they will look to win their first Homecoming game since the 2022 season. Texas A&M-Kingsville has implemented a special policy in Javelina stadium due to Homecoming falling on Halloween, that policy can be found here.

Texas A&M-Kingsville will need to get its offense going again in order to get the win against the Mustangs, as it scored under 20 points last week for the first time since its opening game against Northwest Missouri State. Despite the low scoring output however, the Javelinas finished with over 400 yards of total offense for the fifth time in their last six games.

The Javelinas got season-best performances from receivers Nate Barnett and Marques Singleton last week despite the loss. Barnett posted a season-high 104 receiving yards on just five catches with a touchdown, while Singleton had his best game as a Javelina with nine catches for 95 yards. Those two join Christian Kretz to make a formidable receiver room, as Kretz still leads the LSC in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.

A great offensive performance will be necessary to take down Midwestern, as they sit atop the LSC scoring 45.3 points per game and total offense with 551.1 yards per game. The Mustangs also have the two highest single-game scoring outputs in the LSC this season, scoring 72 against Sul Ross State and 84 against Western New Mexico earlier this season.

Quick Hitters:

- The Javelinas sit in a tie atop the conference with 22 sacks through eight games this season; they have also registered at least one sack in 19 straight games dating back to the 2025 season.

- Defensive back Jeremiah Conaway became the second Javelina to record multiple interceptions in a single game this season with two against Angelo State.

- The pass defense for the Javelinas has been excellent this season, ranking second in the LSC allowing 186.4 yards per game.

- The Javelinas welcomed back Edward Chumley to the lineup after missing the Central Washington game. Chumley was able to rush for over 100 yards and a touchdown against Angelo State.

- A pair of records can be broken this week for Kretz, he sits eight receptions away from breaking King Philips' record of 68 receptions in a single season and 32 yards away from breaking Glenn Stark's record of 1,156  receiving yards set back in 1976.

Kickoff for Saturday's contest is set for 7:00 pm from Javelina Stadium. Fans of the Javelinas can watch the game on FloCollege or follow the action at JavelinaFB on X.
