Amarillo, TX - The Texas A&M-Kingsville Women's Golf team finished 12th of 15 competing schools at the West Texas A&M Fall Invite.
The Javelinas finished day two with a score of +28 through 18 holes in round three. The team would wind up one stroke behind Western New Mexico and 10 strokes ahead of Garden City Community College.Â
Mekdes Rozas finished tied for 23rd on the leaderboards. In round one Mekdes would tie her career low shooting -1 in her first run through. On day two she would score +6 putting her score at +10 for the tournament.
Zoe Dean wouldn't be too far behind, finishing 35th overall individually at the invitational. Dean headed into day two sitting at 49th and battled back in day two, draining four birdies to help. She would shoot a 73, putting her +2 on the day, moving her up the leaderboard 14 slots.
Playing consistently over the two days, Jamie Miller finished 57th individually. She shot a 78 and 79 through the first two rounds, putting her at +15 heading into day two. Miller would shoot a 78 on day two, putting her at +22 for the tournament.Â
Not too far behind was Viviana Farias, finishing 64th, shooting +27 in the invitational. Mia Scrimgeour slid into the 71st spot, shooting +33 through the three rounds.Â
The Javelinas waste no time getting back on the road as they head to Georgia next week, October 6-7, to compete in The St. Simons Intercollegiate.
