KINGSVILLE, Texas - Bouncing back from a two game skid, the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's tennis team roared back to dominate Division I Morgan State in the last match of a three-match home stand, 6-1.

The Javelinas (5-2, 0-1 LSC) get their first win over a Division I opponent on the season after falling to TAMUCC and UTRGV in exhibition matches.

The Hogs got started off on the right foot, winning the doubles point with two commanding wins. The team of Alessa Maier and Milou ter Morsche stayed perfect on the season with a 6-2 win on court 1 while Annika Andersson Gomez and Ella Hester ran the table on court 3, 6-1.

The Javelina's domination continued on the singles courts, taking five of the six matches - four of them in straight sets. Gomez collected her second commanding win of the day on court 5 with a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Raina Zaffar followed up short with a 6-3, 6-2 win on court 6 to make the score 3-0. Ter Morsche secured the win on court 4 eight minutes later in similarly comfortable fashion, 6-2, 6-2.

With the win secured, Luna Jokanovic added a fifth tally to the Javelina score, winning on court 3, 6-3, 6-4. Maier went perfect on the day from court 1, taking the sixth and final point for the Hogs in a three-set thriller. After taking the first set 6-2 and dropping set two 3-6, Maier recovered to take the win in the tiebreaker third set.

The Javelinas are back on the road over spring break, heading to Florida to take on Indiana University Pennsylvania on March 12 and Slippery Rock on March 14.
