KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's tennis is on the road this week to compete in the ITA Division II Regional Championships in Arlington, Texas on Thursday morning, hosted by Dallas Baptist.
The Javelinas are coming off a strong performance from the final day of the Javelina Jam where the team won almost every match, with six wins from eight singles matches, including three wins over Division I opponents. Doubles play was canceled on the final day due to weather.
Ella Hester and
Raina Zaffar turned in great performances over the tournament as a whole as both took first place in their flights, with records of 2-0 over the weekend in singles play.
Manuela Turolo came up just short of first in her flight, but still brought home second place finishing 1-1.
Alessa Maier,
Milou ter Morsche,
Luna Jokanovic, and
Annika Andersson Gomez finished strong as well, securing third place in all of their flights. Maier and ter Morsche finished the weekend with records of 2-1 while Jokanovic and Gomez finished at 1-1.
The Javelinas will be joined in Dallas by a multitude of teams from all over the Division II South Central region.
The action kicks off on Thursday, September 21 and carries on through Saturday.
