KINGSVILLE, Texas – Texas A&M-Kingsville will head on the road for the first time this season, as they open Lone Star Conference play against the No. 14 ranked West Texas A&M Buffaloes (2-0) on Saturday, September 17 at 7 p.m.
The undefeated Javelinas will face their first true test of the season this weekend, as the Buffaloes are not only their first LSC opponent but their first Division II opponent of the season.
"We are 2-0, and that is where we wanted to be headed into conference play," said head coach
Mike Salinas. "West Texas is always a really good team, and we are going to have to execute at a high level like we are capable of to get the win."
The Buffaloes have had the Javelinas' number in the past few years, despite the games always being close affairs with the Buffaloes winning the last three meetings by an average of fewer than seven points.
