KINGSVILLE, TEXAS – The 2020 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championship is now upon us, as redshirt junior Johnathon Harper (Lorena, Texas) and redshirt senior De'Stini Henderson (Dallas, Texas) will represent the Texas A&M-Kingsville track and field program in Birmingham, Ala., starting on Friday, March 13, at the Birmingham Crossplex.

Harper will compete in a very talented heptathlon field in which all athletes have surpassed the 5000 point benchmark. The Lorena, Texas native punched his ticket back in February with an automatic qualifying score of 5561, and enters competition of Friday, March 13 as the three seed behind fellow conference member Tripimir Siroki of Angelo State and Connor Mclean of Colorado Mines.

Additionally, Harpers AQ mark allowed him to garner USTFCCCA All-Region honors, while propelling him to his second consecutive appearance to the indoor national meet.

The multi-event contest will span two days with Harper competing in the 60m dash, long jump, shot put and high jump on day one, with the 60m hurdles, pole vault, and 1000m dash taking place on Saturday.

Henderson, meanwhile, clinched a spot in the open 60m dash after running a blazing-fast 7.55 at the FasTrak Athletix Collegiate Last Chance Meet. Her time represented not only her top time of the season but a lifetime best time for the redshirt senior, allowing her to reach the pinnacle of Division II track and field in just her first season in a Blue and Gold uniform.

Henderson is seeded 13th and will take to the track at 2:25 p.m. for the event's preliminary rounds.
