KINGSVILLE, Texas (Volleyball) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville (20-7, 10-5 LSC) will kickoff the final month of the regular season inside of the Gil E. Steinke Physical Education Center with two matches on Tuesday, November 1 against No. 10 Angelo State (23-2, 14-1 LSC) at 1 p.m. and Texas A&M International University (2-18, 2-9 Heartland Conference) at 7 p.m.

The Javelinas come off of a 3-1 victory over Texas Woman's to improve their overall record to 20-7 and 10-5 in conference play. The club reaches 20 wins for the first time since 1997 and ten wins in the LSC since 1996. The Hogs post a 7-1 record at home and hits .274 while holding their opponents to a .162 hitting percentage in Hog Heaven.Â
Krystal Faison became the eighth Jav in program history to reach 1,000 career kills and paces the team with 330 kills and 43 aces in 2016. Lexi Wick follows with 276 kills and 40 aces, however, the junior middle is tied with Haley Hutchinson with 109 total blocks who also adds 156 kills. Senior Ashley Bukowski has registered 244 kills to go along with 24 aces, while Madison Brabham has 170 kills, and 80 blocks this season. The offense is directed through Casey Klobedans who has a league-high 1,079 assists and adds 71 kills, 43 blocks and 25 aces. Krystal Puente leads the club with 404 digs and has 12 aces.Â
No. 10 Angelo State will be the first of two matches on Tuesday. The Rambelles are on a ten-match winning streak and have lost only three sets since October 1. ASU is 8-1 on the road this season and leads the LSC with a .257 hitting percentage. The match against the Hogs is set to be a great one since the Belles holds opponents to a .132 hitting percentage, 60 aces and 110 total blocks, all which are the fewest in the conference. Conversely, TAMUK leads the league with 180 aces and 238 total blocks.
Mallory Blauser ranks third in the LSC with 360 kills and also adds 54 blocks and 25 aces. The other top hitters are Brianna Sotello who has 263 kills, Abbie Lynn with 198 kills and Morgan Seaton with 164 kills who also leads the team with 77 total blocks.Meghan Parker leads the entire team league with 11.65 assists per set and set the standard with 29 service aces.
The Hogs fell to the Rambelles earlier this season 1-3 and are 12-38 overall in the all-time series.Â
The day will end with a 7 p.m. match against system member Texas A&M International to close out the Hogs 2016 nonconference schedule. The Dustdevils are 2-18 overall and 2-9 in the Heartland conference. Standout leaders for TAMIU is Ramey Gardner with 183 kills and 14 aces, Ali Sanchez with 106 kills and Alexis Villa with 100 kills and a team-high of 26 aces. Villa also has a high of 220 assists that she shares with Victoria Zamora. Defensively, Samantha Gonzalez and Nadiah Fry lead the way with 32 and 30 blocks, respectively, and Alejandra Bustamante leads with 234 digs.
Since 2009, the Javelinas are 10-2 against the Dustdevils and are 5-5 inside of the SPEC. Texas A&M-Kingsville holds a 14-9 overall record in the all-time series.
