Marija Dimitrovska Named Third Team Capital One All-America®

Dimitrovska also appeared on the All-LSC doubles, all-academic and singles honorable mention teams



AUSTIN, Texas (Tennis) –
No. 50 Texas A&M University-Kingsville's Marija Dimitrovska became the first ever Javelina tennis student-athlete to be named Capital One All-America® as the junior appeared on the Division II At-Large third team Wednesday.
 
A junior on the court, she will earn her bachelor's degree in information systems in August 2015. She received All-Lone Star Conference doubles, all-conference singles honorable mention and LSC All-Academic team honors in 2014-15.
 
A Skopje, Macedonia native, Dimitrovska went 14-10 in 2014-15 and 11-9 in the spring, including two wins against nationally-ranked opponents. In doubles action, she went 16-10 overall and 15-8 in the spring with All-LSC first team singles and doubles and LSC All-Academic team recipient Mariaxi Herrera. The duo is ranked No. 6 in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) South Central Region rankings.
 
For the second year in a row, senior diver Kristin Day of Clarion University headlines the 2015 Capital One Academic All-America® Division II Women's At-Large teams as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
 
The Capital One Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2014-15 Division II Academic All-America® teams program.
 
The Capital One Academic All-America® Division II Women's At-Large program includes the sports of bowling, crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis and water polo.
 
Twenty nine members of the 2015 Capital One Academic All-America® Division II Women's At-Large teams have at least a 3.90 G.P.A., including 11 student-athletes who maintain a perfect 4.00 G.P.A. The 15 members of the first team have an average G.P.A. of 3.93.
