VICTORIA, Texas – Senior
Analysa Coy of the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's golf team sits atop the leaderboard after the first 36 holds of the Houston-Victoria Fall Classic at The Club at Colony Creek. The Javelinas are fourth in the team standings following a two round total of 649.
Coy played the first 18 holes at 2-under, 70. Her score is tied for the second lowest ever by a Blue and Gold golfer and only the fourth ever round under par. She followed with an 80 in the second round to conclude the day 6-over par (15). Coy heads into the final 18 with a one shot lead over four other players.
Finishing tied for 18th with Amy Hendrix and Taryn Johnson of St. Thomas and Trinity's Elizabeth McGillvray is
Jessica Sellers at 163 (+19).
Both
Rachelle Nielsen and
Brittany Rodriguez shot 168 to sit in 22nd place.
On the team leaderboard, Trinity has a 19 shot advantage over Texas A&M International after a 36-hole total of 613. St. Thomas is third after a 638, followed by TAMUK and Houston-Victoria (671).
The final round will be played tomorrow beginning at 8:30 a.m.
