Box Score 2 SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville softball team dropped a pair of games to No.-10 Angelo State on Saturday falling 10-4 and 13-1.
The Javelinas are now 10-36 on the season and 2-20 in the LSC. The Rambelles are 35-9 and 18-3
Angelo took a 4-0 lead in the opening game after two innings. Morgan Spearman, who scored the game's opening run in the first, belted a 3-run home run in the top of the second. Spearman went on to drive five runs in the game and finished with four hits.
The Hoggies rallied to tie the game with four runs in the third.
Taylor McGill singled to start the inning, while back-to-back bunt singles by
Erica Graham and
Cortnee White loaded the bases. McGill as
Bailey Offill reached on an error, while
Jaeleen Castro drew a bases loaded walk. With two away,
Adela Gomez lined a 2-run single up the middle to drive in Offill and Castro.
ASU regained the lead with a run in the bottom of the inning for a 5-4 lead. They would add a single run in the fifth and four in the sixth.
Carlie Clark suffered the loss to fall to 4-17. Mary Kate McKay moved to 10-3 with the win for the Belles.
In the second game, Angelo scored eight times in the second keyed by Darian Dunn 3-run double to take a 9-0 lead. They would four more runs in the fourth.
Bailey Offill led off the fifth with a single. She scored on a 1-out double by
Valerie Ramirez.
Kat Tapley (2-6) took the loss. Sandra Serna earned the win to move to 9-4.
The Javelinas and ASU will meet next Friday in a doubleheader at 1 p.m. at Hubert Field.
