As A Junior In 2013: Gomez played in all 51 games for the Javelinas starting all 51 at first base. She finished the season with a .316 average which was second on the team and tops amongst Javelinas. Gomez led the Javelinas with 11 home runs and had two home runs in a contest on three occasions. The 11 home runs tied the school single-season record and is tied for the fifth most in a career. Her 22 extra base hits were tied for sixth in program history She had four home runs with seven RBI in the final two games of the Abilene Christian series. The senior led the team RBI with 43 and was second in runs scored with 28. She posted 11 games with 2-or-more RBI including six with more than three. Defensively, Gomez recorded just 10 errors in 338 chances which was fourth in the LSC. She had a game-high of 12 putouts versus Abilene Christian.

Previous: Gomez went to Alvin Community College and had two successful seasons under coach Loryn Johnson. As a freshman, she hit .341 with 29 RBI, a .476 slugging percentage and .463 on-base percentage. During her sophomore campaign she hit .301 with a .496 slugging percentage and 25 RBI’s en route to earning Second Team All-Region XIV South Zone honors. She led the team to a pair of Region XIV Tournament appearances.

High School: Gomez played scholastically at Alvin High School. She helped lead AHS to the 2008 Texas 5A State Championships and a 2010 District 24-5A championship. She was a two-time First Team All-District 24-5A selection.

Personal: Gomez is the daughter of Pete Gomez and Melissa and Jeff Thomson and is studying kine- siology. Her sister, Meghan, played softball at Southeastern Louisiana.
