Javelinas Gear Up To Face Mustangs

KINGSVILLE, Texas—The Texas A&M-Kingsville softball team heads to Wichita Falls to take on the Mustangs of Midwestern in a 4-game series LSC matchup Saturday.
 
Kingsville comes into this meeting with a 7-20, 2-7, in conference while Midwestern has a record of 19-9, 7-1, in conference. The Mustangs received 12 votes in the NCAA Division II Softball Rankings as of March 19th.
 
Bailey Offill comes in to the series leading the Javelinas with a .317 average, most hits with 26, and 18 runs. Adela Gomez has the most home runs of any Javelina with three and she leads the team with 15 RBI.
 
Kingsville has to stop Midwestern's Kim Jerick who leads the Mustangs with a .437 average and tied with her teammate, Katy Vandewater with 37 hits. Jerrick also leads the Mustangs in home runs with 10 home runs. Vandewater leads her team for RBIs with 29 this season. On the mound, MSU's Erin Knox leads the pitching staff with a 9-2 record and Katlyn Holmes is right behind her with a 7-4 record.
