Kingsville Men Face Greyhounds On Wednesday Night

KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville men's basketball team heads to Eastern New Mexico looking to build off its 79-69 win at Angelo State on Saturday. The Javelinas and Greyhonds will meet at 8:30 p.m.

Kingsville sits at 7-12 overall and is 2-5 in the Lone Star Conference. Eastern, which is on a 2-game winning streak, is currently 11-8 overall and 4-3 in the LSC.

In the first meeting in Kingsville on Jan. 15, the Javelinas dropped a hard-fought 82-78 decision to the Greyhounds.

In the first meeting, Rashad Basey scored a team-high 25 points and Irvin Hollinger and Ta'Quan McDew had 14 and 13 points, respectively. It wasn't enough to overcome a pair of 20-plus point performances by Eastern's Phil Henry and Cornelius Cammock. Henry had 27 points and Cammock 20.

The Hoggies trailed by double digits much of the second half, but made a run in the final seven minutes to get back in the contest. They pulled to within a field goal twice in the final minutes but could never regain the lead.
