Javelinas To Make Home Debut Against McMurry

Box Score KINGSVILLE, Texas – After playing the first two weeks of the 2013 season on the road the Texas A&M-Kingsville football team will make its home debut on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Javelina Stadium against McMurry.

The Javelinas (1-0) have had a flair for the dramatic thus far. They opened the season at Central Washington two weeks ago winning 21-14 on a fake field goal followed by a goal-line stand. Kingsville followed that up with a triple overtime 40-37 win over Monterrey Tech last weekend in Arlington at AT&T Stadium.
Fans who have not yet purchased tickets can buy them at the ticket booths at the Blake Fulenwider Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ticket Plaza beginning at noon on Saturday. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m.
The game will be broadcast live on the radio on the Macareno Signs and Graphics of Alice Javelina Radio Network. The flagship is SportsRadio Corpus Christi KSIX 1230 AM, 96.1 FM and 103.3 FM. In Alice fans can listen on KOPY 92.1 FM, in Kingsville the station is KTAI 92.1 FM and KGGB 105.9 FM and 96.3 FM in Yorktown/Victoria. The game will be streamed live on by the Javelina Broadcast Network http://www.javelinaathletics.com/livestats/football/xlive/xlive.htm with live stats at gojavelinas.com.
McMurry enters the contest 0-2 on the year having fallen to Abilene Christian and Stephen F. Austin – 60-17 and 50-13, respectively. The War Hawks will rejoin the Lone Star Conference in football next season.
Kingsville holds an 11-6-1 advantage in the series between the sides. The Hoggies have won the past six meetings, however the teams have not met since 1971.
For the second straight week, the Javelinas had a pair of players receive weekly honors from the LSC. Robert Armstrong was honored for his 18-catch, 177-yard receiving performance. He had three TDs receiving and one rushing. His 18 catches would be tops in the country at any level however the game with Monterrey is considered an exhibition. Anthony Washington was the co-Special Teams Player of the Week after returning the opening kickoff 100 yards.
