KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville men's basketball team returns home on Saturday at 7 p.m. to take on non-conference foe St. Mary's on Kingsville Hampton Inn Court.
The Javelinas enter with a 3-6 mark after dropping a pair of tough road battles at UTPB last Saturday and Texas A&M International on Wednesday evening. St. Mary's enters with a 6-1 mark on the season.
Rashad Basey continues to lead the Javelinas in scoring with 19.7 points a game. He took over sole possession of the Lone Star Conference scoring lead this past Wednesday night with 25 at Texas A&M International. He had been tied with Eastern New Mexico's Rodney Blackmon for the conference scoring lead at 19.0 entering the week. The Javelina senior is second in steals with 2.1. Basey currently is fifth in shooting at 47.8% from the floor, tenth in foul shooting at a 73.5% clip,

Ta'Quan McDew is second on the team with 12.6 points a game after dropping in 22 at International. McDew is averaging 1.9 3-point field goals a contest which is ninth in the LSC.
Ronald Scott is eighth in assists with 4.0 ninth in assist-to-turnover ratio with a 1.5 ratio of assists to miscues.
Jordan Jahr is sixth in the conference in rebounding averaging 6.8 a contest. He is also sixth in offensive and defensive boards.
St. Mary's, which averages just under 70 points a game, is led in scoring by Marvin Whitt. He is the only Rattler in double figures averaging 13.6 and a team-high 10 steals. They hold a dominant 42.6 to 28.4 advantage on the glass in their seven games. Justin Alexander leads the team with 6.1 boards a contest and 10 blocks.
The teams met once earlier this season in the Javelinas season opener. Kingsville fell 80-65.
