Box Score LAREDO, Texas -- Texas A&M-Kingsville's rematch with South Texas rival Texas A&M International appeared to be going down to the rival on Wednesday night as the team's were deadlocked at 81 with 3:36 remaining after a Ronald Scott 3-point basket. International however would go on a 16-4 run over the next two minutes pulling away late for a 99-90 win over the Javelinas.

With the loss, Kingsville falls to 3-6 on the season, while the Dustdevils move to 5-3. The Javelinas return home to host 6-1 St. Mary's on Saturday at 7 p.m. on Kingsville Hampton Inn Court.

Five Javelinas post double digits on Wednesday led by Rashad Basey with 25, who has scored 19-or-more points in four-straight contests. Ta'Quan McDew finished just shy of his career-best of 24 points with 22, while Ronald Scott added 15. Ryan Garcia and Irvin Hollinger came off the bench to tally 11 points apiece. The 11 points by Garcia were his first of the season and were a career-best for the sophomore.

The Dustdevils also placed five players in double figures. Matthew Culliver, Jr., and Vadel Faniel had double-doubles for the hosts. Culliver had 24 points and 10 assists, while Faniel scored 23 with a game-best 15 rebounds. Kevin Jefferson, Jr., added 14 points, while Damal Donaldson posted 13. Deonnte Breedlove came off the bench for 10.

The Javelinas trailed International 41-39 at the half and found themselves down by 10, 58-48, after a trey by Jefferson with 15:42 remaining.

Kingsville refused to go away pulling to within three on a basket by Jordan Jahr made it 58-55 with 14 minutes to go.

After TAMIU nearly pushed its lead back to 10 on a 3-point play by Donaldson for a 66-57 lead with 12:03 left, the Hoggies went on a 10-1 run tying the game at 67 with nine minutes left. McDew and Garcia each had five points in the run. Garcia had a pair of steals to set up the final five points.

Down 73-69, Basey scored seven consecutive points to give the Javelinas the lead. It was the visitors' first lead since the 13:54 mark of the opening half. Basey's seventh point pushed Kingsville in front 76-73 with 5:56 to go.

The game was tied at 81 with 3:36 after Grey and Scott traded 3-point buckets.

Jefferson's trey broke the tie and started the decisive 16-4 run.

Following a lay-in by McDew with 2:43 left pulled the Hoggies to within 86-85, Faniel tallied four straight points including a 3-point play sparking the decisive run. He had eight points in the spurt and Culliver also had a crucial three.

Garcia's third three of the game snapped the run with 19 seconds remaining.

Both teams were hot offensively. Kingsville hit 55.4% from the floor which is a season best. International, however, was 63.3% from the floor. The hosts also went 27-of-34 from the foul line, while the Javelinas were 19-of-28.

The Hoggies forced 17 turnovers while committing just 12. Scott led the way with four steals, while McDew had five assists. Faniel's 15 boards allowed the hosts to win the rebounding war 30-23.
