Cross Country Teams Set For LSC Championship In New Mexico

KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville men's and women's cross country teams are headed west to New Mexico to compete in the Lone Star Conference Championship in Blackwater Draw hosted by Eastern New Mexico on Saturday.
The Javelina women will run a 6K course at 10:30 central time with the men to run 8K at 10:30. Last year, West Texas A&M claimed the women's crown, while the host Greyhounds are the defending men's titlist.
The Kingsville women are taking a squad of eight runners to the meet. Rebekah Jimenez has been the team's top runner for much of the season and had the team's top time at Incarnate Word with a time of 25:23 to finish in the top 15 amongst non-Division I programs. The Javelina men will be led by sophomore Michal Idziak and freshman Damian Feeney, who have combined for the top spot this season.
