Kingsville – The Texas A&M University-Kingsville cross country teams travel to Dallas this weekend to compete at the DBU Old Glory Gallop on Saturday, October 12. The Javelinas will face stiff competition with 50 teams in the women's division and 45 in the men's, totaling approximately 450 runners per race.
Senior
Ivanova Yanes leads the women's squad after an impressive performance at the Louisville XC Classic, where she posted a personal-best 5K time of 18:05.1, the second-fastest in Javelina history.
On the men's side, sophomore transfer
Kristian Green makes just his second appearance of the season for the Blue & Gold. Green paced the team at Louisville with an 8K time of 26:07.1, the third-fastest of his collegiate career.
Saturday's race serves as a crucial preview for the Javelinas. The same course that they are running on this weekend, the AP Ranch in Forth Worth, will host the conference championship later this month, giving the team a valuable opportunity to familiarize themselves with the challenging terrain as they build momentum heading into championship season.
The men's 8K begins at 8:15 a.m., followed by the women's 5K at 9:15 a.m. Live results will be available during the race with splits at the 2K and 5K points on the course.
