High School: Four-year letterwinner at Sharyland High School in Mission, TX… as a team the Sharyland Rattlers claimed the title of District Champions in 2013 and Regional Champions in 2010 and 2013… individually Val collected awards and records in her events, she was named the Most Improved Cross Country Member in 2012 and 2013, 1
st Team All District, held a two week record for the 800m with a time of 2:17, placed 2
nd in the 800m at the Meet of Champions in the Rio Grande Valley, and currently holds the Border Olympics 800m record with a time of 2:17… she also participated in Track and Field and joined her team to hold the title as District Champions in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013… individually she was named MVP in 2012 and 2013, she also holds the record for the 3200m and in 2013 was a part of a relay team that also holds a record in the distance medley, District Champion in the 800m and the 400m in 2012 and 2013, placed 3
rd in the 800m at the Regional Track Meet, and 3
rd place in the 4x4 meter relay.
