Detmer Jr. became the third Hog ever to throw for over 400 yards in a game as he finished with 450 on 37 completions in 65 attempts to go with three touchdowns in the 45-33 loss to TSU. He fell seven yards shy of tying the program record for passing yards in a game, tied the mark for most pass attempts, and set a new record for completions in the process.

The transfer from BYU was the first member of the Blue and Gold to throw for over 400 yards since Bryan Ehrlich did so twice in the 2012 campaign, first for 415 yards in a loss to No. 15 Midwestern State on September 22 and again for 418 yards in the Kanza Bowl loss to Emporia State on November 25.

The original record was set by Abel Gonzalez in an NCAA First Round loss to UC Davis on November 17, 2001, when he finished with 457 yards in the contest.
