Kingsville, Texas – Senior Setter Alayna Guerrero Shined in her first game as a Javelina and was named the Lone Star Conferences first Setter of the week this season.
 
Coming into her debut, Alayna Guerrero was setting up her teammates in anyway she could, during a four match weekend in the Mulerider Invitational where the Javelinas came out with three wins ( 3-0 over Arkansas-Monticello, 3-0 against Lemoyne-Owens and 3-0 sweeping host Southern Arkansas,) Guerrero put up some mind-boggling numbers. Guerrero averaged 10.23 assists/s, 3.31 digs/s, a total of four blocks and adding two aces. 
 
She put together a line of 41 assists and 15 digs against Southern Arkansas and then followed it up with 33 assists and 14 digs against #12 Central Oklahoma. Alayna Guerrero had a total 133 assists and 43 digs for the weekend and currently leads the LSC in assists per set.  She becomes the first Javelina since November 11^th, 2025, to be honored with LSC setter of the week recognition. 
 
Guerrero and the Javelinas are back at home this weekend for the Javelina Volleyball Classic. The Javelinas will start their action on Thursday (6:30) against Edinboro in the SPEC.Fans of the Javelinas can tune into the action on FloCollege or follow the action with JavelinaVB on X.
