Magnolia, Arkansas – Javelinas fall to #12 Central Oklahoma, Finish tournament 3-1
In the Final match of the weekend the Javelinas took on the Bronchos of Central Oklahoma who came into the season ranked #12. The match went on to go four sets with the Javelinas taking the first in a back and forth 32-30 score. After that they hung on till the very end in the 2
nd and 3
rd sets dropping them 25-23 and 25-21. The fourth and final set swung the Bronchos way as they started strong and never let up.
The Javelinas young players still show their promise as
Karli Krueger, and
Cambelle Brammer had 11 and 9 kills each.
Alayna Guerrero kept her same pace as she has all tournament with another 33 assists, as well as adding 14 digs to her resume.
Tayae-Renae Garcia led the team in digs and improved her career high to 24 in this match.
Texas A&M – Kingsville finished the tournament with an overall record of 3-1 and started to get experience and growth from the youth on their team. As they build chemistry throughout the season the Javelinas look like a team poised to make some noise in the Lone Star Conference and possibly further.
The Javelinas return home, Next weekend for the Javelina Volleyball Classic starting on September 3
rd as they take on Edinboro at 6:30.
