Corpus Christi - The Corpus Christi Sports Commission (CCSC) announced Tuesday Night that Texas A&M-Kingsville women's track and field senior Madison Ramos would win the Commission's inaugural Javelina of the Year award.

Alongside her teammate, sophomore Oneika Brissett, and volleyball/beach volleyball senior Rylan Pollard, Ramos was named a finalist for the award by the CCSC after a record-setting final indoor season for Ramos. An extremely deserving candidate and winner, Ramos stockpiled awards and honors throughout the spring, capping off the season as a First Team All-American thanks to a fifth-place finish in the women's high jump at the 2026 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field National Championship.

She was also named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's All South Central Region Team, as well as the All-Lone Star Conference First Team. She brought home a gold medal in the women's high jump at the Indoor LSC Championship, winning the event for the first time in her career. Twice during the season, she broke her own school record in the high jump, clearing a bar set at 1.76m. The first time she accomplished that feat, she earned the LSC's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award, marking the second such time in her career. She was also rewarded for her stellar work in the classroom with a selection to the LSC's All-Academic Team.

Ramos will return to the Javelinas next year for the outdoor season.
