Kingsville - Thirteen members of the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's and men's track and field teams were named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-South Central Region Team, including a pair who made the team in two different events.
Nine women, led by sophomore
Oneika Brissett, who earned an All-Region spot in both the 400m and the 4x400m relay, as well as four men, led by freshman
Christopher Gonzalez, who made the team for both the 400m hurdles and the long jump, helped the Javelinas stack the early postseason awards.
Malachi Barendilla | R-Jr. | Men's 100m
Barendilla recently qualified for the Outdoor National Championship with the Men's 4x100m Relay team that clocked in the seventh fastest time in program history. Early in the season he ran a 10.24 in the 100m dash at the UTSA Invitational putting him sixth all-time in the Javelina history books.
Chris Gonzalez | Fr. | Men's  400m hurdles, long jump
Gonzalez had a stellar first LSC Outdoor Championships making the podium in four separate events, including second place finishes in long jump, 400m hurdles, and 4x100m relay, while also receiving a third place finish in the 4x400m relay. He also ran a season best 51.58 in the 400m hurdles at the Tom Tellez Invitational and jumped a season best 7.59m at the Angelo State David Noble Relays.
Django Segovia | Sr. | Men's Pole Vault
Segovia competed at the LSCo Championships receiving bronze in men's pole vault with a jump of 4.98m. That, however, was not even his season best, at the 2026 Texas Invitational he cleared a height of 5.15m putting him fifth all-time in the program.
Trevor Upton | R-Fr | Men's Pole Vault
At the LSCo Championships, Upton earned silver in the men's pole vault clearing a height of 5.18m. However, similarly to Segovia, that wasn't even Upton's season best. At the UTSA Invitational he cleared his best height, jumping 5.25m, putting him fourth in the Javelina history books.
Karina Alvarez | Jr. | Women's Shot Put
Alvarez has an opportunity to finish her junior season as a first-time All-American. At this year's Cactus Cup she had a throw of 14.68m throw in the event, the second-best in school history. At the LSCo Championships she made the podium, finishing with a bronze medal with a throw of 13.26m.
Oneika Brissett | So. | Women's 400m, 4x400m relay
Brissett, who's already qualified for Nationals in both events, earned bronze in both the 400m dash, and the 4x400m relay. As well as earning bronze in the 400m dash, she ran a 53.10, which broke the program record by more than half a second.
Yosiris Cordoba | Jr. | Women's Discus
Cordoba will enter the National Championship with the best discus throw in the nation, which she posted at the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships, winning her gold in the women's discus. At the conference meet she smashed her previous all-time record with every she made with the best being 57.63m, also becoming the sixth-best all-time throw in D-II History.
Kaylea Demetrius | Jr. | Women's Shot Put
Demetrius earned the silver medal at the LSCo Championships with a throw of 13.88m. However, her season best throw came at the Tom Tellez Invitational with a throw of 14.19m, seventh best throw in the program all-time.
Paisley Janssen | Fr. | Women's High Jump
Janssen finished the season earning the silver medal at the conference meet, where she cleared a height of 1.71m. That jump alone would put her on the top-10 list in program history.Â
Kenzie Kurdys | Jr. | Women's Pole Vault
Kurdys will compete in the first Outdoor National Championship of her career in the blue and gold. She cleared a bar set at 3.95m at the J Fred Duckett Rice Twilight meet, just .25 inches off of the school record (she already holds the program's indoor pole vault record). At the LSCo Championships Kurdys earned gold clearing a height of 3.63m.
Jazmine Miller | Sr. | Women's 4x400m relay
Miller was a part of the 4x400m relay team that ran the second best time in program history falling just a second short of the record. She also had a season best 400m time of 56.51 at the Tom Tellez Invitational.Â
Sakara Wade | So. | Women's 4x400m relay
As well as being a part of the relay team sitting second in program history, Wade also ran a season best 400m time of 55.12 at the Angelo State David Noble Relays.
Valentina Torres | Fr. | Women's 4x400m relay
Torres also qualified with the 4x400m relay team for nationals after their 3:37.95 time at the LSCo Championships. She also ran a season best 400m time of 57.57 at the conference meet.
