CONWAY, Ark. – The Javelinas closed out the UCA Spring Break Invitational with a statement day at the Beach Bear Sand Courts on Saturday, bouncing back from Friday's loss to UT Martin with a gritty 3-2 win over the Skyhawks before capping the weekend with a dominant sweep of Southwest Baptist.

The rematch with UT Martin was a battle. The Skyhawks took pair two from Laura Betsa and Kalani Vasquez in straight sets, but Kate Wozniak and Elizabeth Williams answered at pair four with one of the matches of the weekend, dropping the first set 5-21 before digging deep, rallying to take the second 21-18 and closing out a hard fought third 15-10 to keep Kingsville level heading into the back half.

Emma Daugherty and Kastyn Hoffman delivered at pair three, winning 21-12, 21-17 in dominant fashion. Clara Presmanes-Garate and Kamryn Briggs were equally clutch at pair five, taking care of business 21-19, 21-18. Rylan Pollard and Liana Huesca battled hard at pair one but dropped a tough three-setter, falling 10-15 in the decider, with the Javelinas ultimately securing the 3-2 win.

TAMUK then turned around and handled Southwest Baptist from start to finish. Betsa and Vasquez set the tone early and Wozniak and Williams were equally emphatic, the two pairs combining to put the Bearcats on their heels from the jump. Pollard and Huesca were dominant at pair one, Daugherty and Hoffman continued their strong weekend at pair three, and Presmanes-Garate and Briggs closed out the sweep at pair five, bouncing back after dropping the first set to win the final two and put a bow on the tournament.

The Javelinas finished the UCA Spring Break Invitational 3-1 on the weekend, showing resilience and fight from start to finish, and improved to 15-4 on the season.

TAMUK returns home next Friday, March 27, hosting Mary Hardin-Baylor at the Javelina Beach Volleyball Courts for a doubleheader, with matches set for 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
