Kingsville — Coming off a strong 3-1 showing at the Tulane Bayou Beach Duals last weekend in New Orleans, the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelina beach volleyball team makes the trip to Conway, Arkansas this weekend for the University of Central Arkansas Spring Break Invitational at the Beach Bear Sand Courts.
The Javelinas have been one of the most consistent programs on the sand this spring, sitting at 12-3 on the season and riding the momentum of a strong weekend in the Big Easy. TAMUK has shown the ability to grind out tight matches when it matters most, as evidenced by last Saturday's thrilling pair one clincher from Rylan Pollard and Liana Huesca to seal the win over UTEP. The Javelinas head to Conway looking to build on that momentum against two new opponents this weekend.
Friday, March 20
Kingsville opens the tournament at 8:00 a.m. against UT Martin, a program that enters the weekend as one of the more established beach volleyball programs in the country. The Skyhawks are coming off a solid opening weekend and bring a deep, experienced lineup to the sand. The Javelinas then close out Friday at 2:00 p.m. against Southwest Baptist, a Bearcats squad sitting at 3-5 on the season looking to turn things around.
Saturday, March 21
The Javelinas return to the sand Saturday morning for a rematch against UT Martin at 8:00 a.m. before wrapping up the weekend against Southwest Baptist at 10:00 a.m. Back-to-back days against the same opponents will test Kingsville's depth and focus, but the Javelinas have shown all season long that they are up for the challenge.
