San Antonio, Tx - Texas A&M-Kingsville travels to the Alamo City to take on St. Mary's in a massive Lone Star Conference showdown beginning Friday at 6:00 pm.

The Javelinas have been red-hot over the past two weeks, going 7-1 while crossing double-figure runs three times over that time span. Now they will take their hot streak to Dickinson Stadium to take on a Rattlers team who is deadlocked with the Javelinas in the LSC standings.

Currently the Javelinas and Rattlers sit in a tie for third in the Lone Star Conference standings along with UT-Dallas, although the Comets are not eligible to compete in the LSC Baseball tournament. Texas A&M-Kingsville is well within striking distance for the top spot in the Lone Star Conference however, as it sits a half game back on St. Edward's University and just one game back on top-ranking Angelo State and UT-Tyler.

Coming into this contest, Texas A&M-Kingsville boasts one of if not the best offenses in the conference. The Javelinas lead the LSC in batting average (.341), hits (255) and are second in runs scored (193). Those numbers are also good for top-20 in division two as well. St. Mary's is right behind the Javelians with 186 runs scored, however 30-percent of their runs scored came in the Rattlers' opening week series.

Powering the offense for the Javelinas in this midseason surge has been the play of Cash Benavidez and Cade Minus. The duo racked up six combined hits in the series finale last week against Oklahoma Christian, with Minus' two-RBI double giving the Javelinas firm control of the contest.

First pitch for the series is set for Friday at 6:00 pm. Fans of the Javelinas can watch the game on FloCollege or follow the action at JavelinaBSB on X.
