Javelinas Head to San Antonio for STMU Tournament

Kingsville - The 20th ranked Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelina STUNT team heads to San Antonio this week for the St. Mary's Tournament, where they will face four opponents over two days of competition.

The Javelinas enter the weekend sitting at 4-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play, looking to build momentum and climb the standings against a talented field that includes multiple nationally ranked programs.

Saturday, February 28

The tournament opens Saturday with back-to-back matchups. TAMUK will take the mat first against UC Davis at 10:00 AM, before squaring off with No. 2 University of Kentucky at 1:45 PM.

The early matchup with UC Davis presents a prime opportunity for the Javelinas to get off on the right foot and establish rhythm heading into the afternoon. The second bout of the day will be the marquee challenge of the weekend, as TAMUK faces the second-ranked Wildcats of Kentucky, one of the country's premier programs. Competing against elite competition like this can only sharpen the Javelinas heading into Sunday.

Sunday, March 1

The tournament concludes Sunday with two more matchups. TAMUK will face No. 14 St. Mary's University (TX) at 11:30 AM in an in-state rivalry matchup, before closing out the weekend against No. 24 Quincy University at 3:15 PM.

Sunday's slate features two more ranked opponents, giving Kingsville a chance to make a statement on the national stage. A strong showing against St. Mary's and Quincy could do wonders for both the team's confidence and its ranking profile as the season progresses.

With four matches against quality competition, including three ranked opponents, the STMU Tournament offers the Javelinas a significant opportunity to prove themselves and make a push in the second half of the season.
