STUNT Closes Weekend Strong with 2-1 Record at DBU

DALLAS – The Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelina STUNT team returned to Dallas for a second DBU-hosted tournament, going 2-1 over two days of competition to close out the weekend on a high note.

The Javelinas opened Thursday against St. Edward's University, picking up a 19-13 victory over a team they had already defeated earlier in the season. The win continued to show the consistency TAMUK has developed against the Saints, executing their game plan once again against a familiar opponent.

Thursday's second match proved to be a tough test, as Hope International University out of California handed the Javelinas a 24-1 setback. HIU's dominant performance served as a valuable learning opportunity for the young TAMUK squad.

The Javelinas responded Friday with their most complete performance of the tournament, dismantling Arizona Christian University 22-6 to close out the weekend on a positive note. The team also debuted routines they had never performed before, adding another layer to their growing playbook.

"What a successful weekend for Javelina STUNT," Head Coach Lindsey Garcia said. "Beyond proud of how well the team did despite all the changes that were needed to be made this week due to injuries and people pushing through this tournament feeling under the weather."

TAMUK will look to carry the momentum from this weekend's showing into the next stretch of their season.
