LSC Names Three Javelina STUNT Athletes as Players to Watch

Kingsville - The Lone Star Conference (LSC) has named three Texas A&M–Kingsville athletes to its Preseason STUNT Players to Watch list, recognizing their key roles in the Javelina STUNT program's rapid growth.

"I am beyond thrilled to hear that three of our returning athletes are being recognized as LSC Players to Watch," Head Coach Lindsey Garcia said.

All three return as sophomores after competing in the program's inaugural season and are expected to play pivotal roles as the Javelinas continue their rise in the conference.

Daniella Cantu, a sophomore from Kingsville, TX, is a versatile tumbler, base, and mid-layer who performs back handsprings, tucks, and layouts while competing as both a main and side base.

Liliana Mendiola, a sophomore from Corpus Christi, TX, brings her skills as a tumbler, base, and mid-layer to the mat, executing back handsprings, tucks, and layouts as a side base.

Jenna Mendez, a sophomore from Raymondville, TX, is a dynamic tumbler, flyer, and mid-layer who showcases back handsprings, tucks, layouts, and fulls while competing as a flyer.

Texas A&M–Kingsville launched its STUNT program in spring 2025 and had a successful inaugural season. The Javelinas earned multiple conference wins, a spot in the national Division II rankings, and competed against some of the region's top teams.

The Javelinas closed their inaugural season with a milestone at the Lone Star Conference Tournament in Dallas, earning the program's first postseason victory with an 11–6 win over St. Edward's in the opening round.

Texas A&M–Kingsville finished its first season 5–13 overall, placing fourth in the Lone Star Conference and closing the year winners of three of its final five matches.

"After completing our inaugural year last season, this is a huge accomplishment and milestone for these athletes and the entire program," Garcia said. "I'm super excited to see how these three athletes, along with our entire roster, perform this season."

The Javelinas open their 2026 campaign this Sunday at the MSU Tournament in Louisiana, facing McNeese State at 9 a.m. and Centenary College at 1:30 p.m. Follow @JavelinaSTUNT on Instagram for live updates.
