Kingsville - Texas A&M-Kingsville will kick off the Scott Parr era of football with the start of the 2025 season at Javelina Stadium against Lincoln College on Sept. 6.
After posting a seven-win season a year ago under current Athletic Director Michael Salians, the Javelinas look to get off on the right foot against the Oaks in Kingsville.
Texas A&M-Kingsville last faced off against Lincoln in the 2021 season, where the Javelinas would take a 51-21 win over the Oaks. That game stands as the only time the two teams faced off.
Under the direction of Parr, the program's 13th head coach, the Javelinas will feature a new look offense for the 2025 season. Parr brings a traditional air-raid offense from Louisiana Tech to Kingsville, with Louisiana Tech transfer QB
Jack Turner getting penciled in as the starter for week one's tilt.
Joining Parr on the offensive side of the ball is new Offensive Coordinator/QB's Coach Bradley Wilson, who was named to Dave Campbell's Texas Football's 40-under-40 coaches list this offseason.
On the other side of the ball, the Javelinas retained Defensive Coordinator
Jamison Bisch from 2024's coaching staff as well as key members of that season's defense. Defensive linemen
Kerry North and
Blake Jaques return as starters from the 2024 defensive line as well as linebackers
Travis Bielefeld and
Charlie Moore Jr.
Perhaps the strength of the 2025 defense will be the secondary, as the Javelinas only lost two starters from week one of the 2024 season. Key members include
Khalen Leonard,
Demarcus Peters and
D'Cambren Verrett, who was named to the Lone Star Conferences' preseason watch-list.
Kickoff for Saturday's game is set for 7:00 pm from Javelina Stadium. Fans of the Javelinas can watch the contest live on FloCollege or follow the game at JavelinaFB on X.
