Javelinas release 2025 cross country schedule

Kingsville - After a historic year on the course, the Texas A&M - Kingsville men's and women's cross country teams officially announced their complete schedule for the 2025 season.

The 2024 season saw the Hogs produce their first All-Conference duo since at least 2006 on the women's side, and their highest team placement at the Lone Star Conference meet since 2018 on the men's side. Both squads are set to reload, bringing in talented new faces to pair with returning studs.

"This schedule, I believe, indicates where we are currently with the men's and women's teams," Assistant Coach Zachary Hall said. "We are looking to make that next jump."

Their slates will feature four regular season competitions, including one that takes them out of the state of Texas. After opening their year at the Sam-Houston-State-hosted BearKat Twilight Invitational (Sept. 5), the Javelinas will head to San Antonio for the University of the Incarnate Word Invite (Sept. 12).

"These are tune-up meets to take on Louisville where we will face our first nationally-ranked opponents," Hall said.

The Hogs will then hit the road, for their longest trip of the regular season, travelling to Louisville, KY for the 24th Annual Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic. Following the trip, TAMUK will return to its home state for a preview of the conference meet at the Dallas Baptist Old Glory Gallop, which is set to be run two weeks prior to the all-important LSC Championship, which will also be hosted by the Patriots.

"On the men's side, we are looking at the podium," Hall said, referencing a top-three conference finish. "We bring Mrunal, Leon, and Josh to aid us upfront. We have potentially the most talented team during my tenure this year on the men's side."

Both teams have set their sights on following up history-making seasons by producing even more during the 2025 campaign.

"The women are led by Ivanova, who finished last year ranked top 35 in the 10k in the country," Hall said. "We have a very young squad behind her for support. We should hopefully finish about the same as last year, which was one of the best finishes for Kingsville since the Lone Star and Heartland merged."
