Redshirt-freshman
Tyler Schumann got the start for the Javelinas in game two of the LSC conference tournament opening round. The native of fanned a pair of Patriot batters, but gave up a pair of walks and a pair of hits in the first two innings that made it a 4-0 game early.
Despite the lead, the Javelinas still showed life throughout the game. A lead-off double in the fourth by
Vincent Sanchez put the Javelinas in an excellent position to get back in the game. However, the bats ran cold as the next three batters all grounded out and could not get Sanchez home.
Texas A&M-Kingsville called upon
Gabriel LeBlanc and
Daniel Cardona to keep the game within reach for itself. The duo combined for 5.2 innings of work with three strikeouts. However, the Patriots secured six runs off of the duo to put themselves in a comfortable spot. With bases loaded and two outs, UT-Tyler would finish the game off, bringing all three runs and ending the game in the seventh.
