Kingsville - With a school record-breaking triple jump of 12.50m, graduate student
Jazmin Ray earned the first Lone Star Conference Field Athlete of the Week award of her career.
Her jump at the UTSA Invitational this weekend gave Ray a sweep of the program's triple jump records, as she broke the Javelinas' indoor record earlier this year. It is also the longest jump in Division II so far this outdoor season. Just one week after becoming an All-American in the same event, Ray was named the LSC Outdoor AoTW for the first time ever, having received her first ever equivalent award during the Indoor season just a few months ago.Â
Ray will be travelling to San Antonio for the Trinity Invitational this weekend as the Javelinas will be splitting their squad between there and Austin at the Texas Relays.
