Dallas, TX - Texas A&M-Kingsville fell in the final road game of the season to Dallas Baptist University, 61-91, Saturday in Dallas.
The Javelinas (11-14, 7-12 LSC) shot just 36.5 percent from the floor and coughed up 25 turnovers against the Patriots (25-3, 17-2 LSC). DBU scored 36 points off of those Javelina turnovers and scored 52 points in the paint.
Defensively, the full court press from DBU was oppressive from the start. The Patriots forced four Javelina turnovers in the first five minutes of the game, and rode this defensive pressure to a massive early lead. Texas A&M-Kingsville stayed in the fight, but could not keep pace with the Patriots.
Isaiah Payne led the team with 20 points,
Allen Singleton and
Zyon Little finished with double figures with 12 and 11 points respectively. Singleton ended the game with a team-high six rebounds and six assists.
Texas A&M-Kingsville returns home for the final three games of the season, starting against Midwestern State on Thursday for the Hall of Fame game at 7:30. Fans of the Javelinas can watch live on FloCollege or follow live coverage at JavelinaMBB on Twitter.
