Track and field opening season at Pittsburg St. Invites in Kansas

Kingsville - After a record-setting season last year, the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's and men's track and field teams are travelling to Kansas to begin their indoor seasons at a pair of Invitationals hosted by Pittsburg St..

The teams, who broke countless records and produced dozens of All-Americans over the course of their history-making 2024-25 seasons, are poised to hit the track running again this year. The Javelinas will compete in both the Boo Rogers and the Crimson and Gold Invitationals this weekend, with events scheduled for both Friday and Saturday (see attached schedules). Across the weekend, thirty-one teams and more than 1,000 athletes are set to kick off the Indoor Track and Field season in the Robert W. Plaster Center.

The Boo Rogers Combined Events will start at 11:30 a.m. Friday, with the women's pentathlon action wrapping up shortly after 6:30 p.m.. The men will compete in four of seven events in the heptathlon Friday, and finish competition on Saturday starting at 9 a.m..

The Crimson & Gold Invitational begins at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, with the men's and women's 5,000 meters competition held the night before, starting at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.

Kingsville will have 14 athletes travelling, nine men and five women. They will be the only Javelinas to compete this calendar year, with TAMUK's next competition set to come in Houston at the Leonard Milton Memorial Invitational on January 10.

Both meets also will be live streamed on themiaanetwork.com.
