Kingsville - The NCAA's newest D2 volleyball regional rankings see the Texas A&M-Kingsville volleyball team making its season debut in the top 10, slotting in at 10th in the South Central region.
Though the team was not listed in the first rankings of the season (released last week), which were listed in alphabetical order, a pair of in-conference sweeps, over the University of Texas at Tyler and the University of Texas at Dallas, from this past weekend helped move the team into a spot on the first ordered rankings of the season.
Those wins extended TAMUK's winning streak to four matches in a row and five of its last six, and moved the team to 10-5 in the Lone Star Conference. They were also enough to clinch Kingsville a spot in the LSC Tournament for the first time since 2023, when the team made the LSC Championship game. The Javelinas currently hold a 14-7 in-region record and a 18-7 record overall.Â
They will be on the road to close out their regular season this weekend, with matches against Angelo St. (Friday, 6:00 p.m.) and UT-Permian Basin (Saturday, 1:00 p.m.).
